Mindful Walking ----- By taking a simple, short walk during the day can help get your thoughts in order. Start out  by walking a easy & comfortable rate . Try and match your breathing rate in time with your walking rhythm . Turn your face forward, chest out, relax your shoulders, and swing your arms as you walk. Then take notice of your surroundings, soak in the beauty of nature, the blue sky, the fluffy clouds, green trees , the fallen leaves colors, also check out your neighborhood (different houses / different people) Feel your feet as you walk on the ground let it flow as you pick up the pace. As you enjoy your walk pay attention to what you see, smell and what you hear. Always try to be mindful & grateful of the fact that you can even WALK!

3 Tips for Mindful Walking: Empower Your Steps

  1. Engage All Your Senses: As you walk, take time to notice the sights, sounds, and smells around you. Feel the ground beneath your feet and the breeze on your skin. Being present with your surroundings brings you into the moment and allows you to enjoy the walk more fully.

  2. Focus on Your Breath: Sync your steps with your breath—inhale for a few steps, exhale for a few more. This helps calm your mind, reduces stress, and keeps you grounded while walking, turning it into a moving meditation.

  3. Set an Intention: Before starting your walk, set a mindful intention—whether it’s to clear your mind, gain clarity, or just find peace. Use the walk as a way to connect with yourself, letting go of distractions and fully immersing in the present.

At the last minute my daughter & I went to the Freedom Rally and it was a split decision I won't regret. From the beginning to end it was a combination of pure electric energy ( with the right pep rally music playing), it was peaceful , it had unity ( inclusion of a mix of people , different races, gender , disabilities etc. ) It had harmony of let's work together for the betterment of all and not of exclusion. It was well organized , the line moved smoothly even with the huge crowd, they made sure we had water & even snacks , they had people registering you to vote it was Awesome to see so many young people there & involved. The major highlight was when she hit the stage and gave a powerful speech about how we as a people can have a better future , I felt hope...... So people if you can't make it to a Rally make sure you get out and VOTE.

It was a great experience getting to attend the Kamala Harris rally in Charlotte and see the community come together for a conversation about the future!

Boo hoo summer is gone but fall is cool. Here are a few reasons I like fall. # 1 the temperature is not to hot not to cold , #2 Pumpkin spice coffee , pumpkin muffins, & pumpkin patches #3 You get an extra hour for rest/ sleep #4 seeing little kids having great joy going treat or treating wearing their costume and getting candy # 5 Being blessed to be here able to see the leaves fall, changing colors , going for a walk and breathing in the crisp fall air. Also you can view fall as a time for a fresh start , set some goals and complete them before the new year.

Now, I know some of you might still be holding on to summer like it’s your last beach day, but trust me, it’s time to leaf summer behind and dive headfirst into the beauty that is fall.

The truth is, fall is the ultimate glow-up season. It's the time to reset, refocus, and rediscover your power while cozying up in all the warm, spiced goodness this season brings. So grab your pumpkin spice latte, throw on that cute oversized sweater, and let’s talk about why fall deserves a spot as your new fave.

1. New Season, New You!

Fall isn’t just about changing leaves; it’s about changing you. As the air cools and the days get shorter, it’s the perfect time to slow down, reflect, and hit reset on your life goals.

2. Sweater Weather Is Self-Care Weather

Let’s be real, summer’s great and all, but who really enjoys sweating every time you step outside? Fall brings cooler temps, which means cozy clothes, warm drinks, and a chance to really indulge in some self-care.

3. Let Go Like the Leaves

Just like the trees shed their leaves, fall reminds us that it’s okay to let go of things that are weighing us down. Whether it's a toxic relationship, a bad habit, or even the expectations of others, fall teaches us that letting go is a form of growth.

4. Embrace the Cozy but Keep the Hustle

One of the best things about fall is how it encourages both relaxation and productivity. You can snuggle up with a hot drink and crush your to-do list at the same time. It’s all about balance.

Enjoy these Fall Vibes. So fall in love with Fall, take time to Rest, Relax then Reset.
