We are dealing with a Heatwave at the start of Summer 2024







How to stay cool in a heat wave. As were all dealing with record high temperatures ( like a daily B Q).  Here are a few ways to stay cool & safe in the heat. 1. Drink lots of water  & ( ice tea ,  pure juice low or no sugar & fruit infused water with strawberries , lemon & watermelon slices). 2. Cool off in  Water  ( find a pool , go-to the lake or a near by beach) 3. If you have no A/C open doors & windows ( also put a box fan  in the window)  4. Limit Alcohol ( it will cause you to be dehydrated ) 5. Eat light cool meals ( like sandwiches & salads) 6. Stay indoor, limit out door activity ( Mainly around high sun peak hours) 7. Wear sun screen  8. Wear light loose fitting clothes  9. Keep a spray bottle with cold water & spritz yourself when needed  10. Check on the elderly & people in need , make sure their safe in order for them to avoid heat stroke.



Here are some WillPower Ways to Stay Healthy during a heat wave:

  • Stay hydrated  Drink water before you feel thirsty, especially if you're outside or active. 

  • Stay cool  Take a cold shower or bath, soak your feet, or apply wet towels to your skin. You can also try blowing a fan over a bowl of ice or wet sheet to cool the air. 

  • Stay shaded  Find a cool, shaded area with good ventilation, or close curtains to create more shade. If you're outside, wear a wide hat to protect your face. 

  • Stay comfortable  Wear light, loose-fitting clothing. At night, use thin sheets and try chilling your socks. 

  • Stay productive  Limit heat-generating activities like using the oven or turning on lights and appliances. If you need to work outside, avoid doing so during the hottest part of the day. 

  • Stay safe  Check on family, friends, and neighbors, and watch for signs of heat cramps, exhaustion, or stroke.

How to get a good night sleep. This is a topic near and dear to my heart, I've been dealing with sleep problems for many years. Since they say getting a good night sleep is key to your health, I'm trying to correct this issue. Here are a few tips that might help you out if you are dealing with sleep problems. 1. Try to stick with a nightly sleep schedule (example 11 pm) , 2. Watch what you eat and drink (try not to go past 8 pm) , 3. Create a restful /peaceful sleep environment (turn off tv, lights etc.), 4. Limit day time naps , 5. Early exercise, not to late ( start with a 20 minute walk), 6. Keep your room at cool temperature , 7. Have a nice cup of Chamomile tea,  8. Say your Prayers words of gratitude, let worries go.... Nite Nite .





Getting beauty sleep is essential for maintaining healthy skin, reducing stress, and feeling rejuvenated. Here are three tips to help you get the most out of your beauty sleep:

1. Maintain a Consistent Sleep Schedule

Tip: Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, even on weekends. Reason: A consistent sleep schedule helps regulate your body’s internal clock, which can improve the quality of your sleep. Quality sleep is crucial for skin repair and overall health.


2. Create a Relaxing Bedtime Routine

Tip: Develop a calming pre-sleep routine that might include activities like reading a book, taking a warm bath, or practicing meditation. Reason: A relaxing bedtime routine signals to your body that it’s time to wind down, making it easier to fall asleep. Reducing stress before bed can also decrease the risk of skin conditions aggravated by stress, such as acne and eczema.


3. Optimize Your Sleep Environment

Tip: Make your bedroom conducive to sleep by keeping it cool, dark, and quiet. Use blackout curtains, earplugs, or a white noise machine if needed. Reason: A comfortable sleep environment minimizes disturbances, helping you achieve deeper, more restorative sleep. Proper rest supports the skin’s natural repair processes, leading to a fresher, more youthful appearance.

By following these tips, you can enhance the quality of your sleep, which in turn can have positive effects on your overall health and beauty.
